Statement of Intent:

League Fees:

1.     $100 for league.

2.     $30 per match when “home team” to pay for 1 registered official during league play.

3.     $160 for league tournament.

4.     League Coordinator will be responsible for getting officials for communities.

5.     Community Coordinators will give official’s fees to League Coordinator to disburse at beginning of season. Communities that are listed as the “home team” will be responsible for payment.

6.     No insurance fees will be associated with this league. It is suggested that community sign-up sheets contain a clause absolving the Community Coordinator, Coaches, Schools, and League, of any liability in case of accident or injury to the players. Each community is recommended to provide insurance for their respective association and individual players.

7.     Admission Fee: All sites where the games are held shall charge a standard admission of $3.00 for adults, $2.00 for students. Any further discounts shall be up to the host community.

8.     Tournament Admission Fee: All sites where the games are held shall charge a tournament admission of $5.00 for adults, $2.00 for students.

Team Configuration/Size:

1.     4/5/6/7/8th grade girls that reside in their community they are playing for.

2.     OK this year to combine grades (ie. 4/5 or 5/6 or 7/8) to make a team for community to participate.  If grades are combined to form a team then the team will “play up” a grade.

3.     8 players minimum, maximum team size is at the Coach’s discretion.

4.     Divisions and configurations will be decided if they are needed based on the number of teams and geographical location.

1.     1 match will consist of 3 games. All 3 games will be played to 25 points with rally scoring. Team must win 2 out of 3 games to win match and win by 2. We encourage the 3rd game regardless if 1 team has the won the first 2 games. This modification is to encourage practice/skill building.

2.     Net Height: regulation 7’4 1/8 feet for 4, 5, 6, 7,8th graders.

3.     Ball size: regulation size for 7th and 8th graders. Light-weight ball to be used for 4th, 5th and 6th graders.

4.     Each coach will be granted two (30 second) timeouts.

5.     Substitutions/rotation: You must play your entire roster and include them in the serving rotation.

6.     Serving Line: 7th and 8th graders will serve from the regulation line. 4, 5, 6th graders will be allowed a foot and half inside the regulation line with a marked piece of tape. All grades are allowed 1 re-toss when serving.

7.     Referees: 1 registered MHSAA official per match, with 2 volunteers needed to be line judges and 1 volunteer to keep book and time.

8.     Time limit for each match will be 1 hour and 15 minutes.

1.     5 week league beginning weekend of March 3rd. League games shall consist of 2 matches being played on either Saturday or Sunday.

2.     Not every team will be guaranteed the same number of matches throughout the 5 weeks.

3.     A league tournament with double elimination will be held the week of April 14th.

Gym and Equipment:

1.     Each community will need to provide gym time and equipment (net and court).

2.     If gym time and equipment cannot be provided by a community then games will be played at a community that can provide these items.  This means some teams may play games not in their own community but will still be the “home team.”

3.     “Home team” will provide the ball.

4.     Uniforms: Team uniforms may consist of T-shirts with the player’s small number on the front and large number on the back. Similar short color is encouraged.
