Red Cedar Basketball League received the following message from our notification service, RainedOut:

"On 1/7/20, RainedOut will start charging for text messages for the first time in our history. Account set up, sending and receiving email notifications will continue to be free. We cannot continue to do everything for free as charges from the carriers are rising."

Therefore, beginning on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020, we will only be sending our RainedOut notifications for the Red Cedar League via email.

Red Cedar Basketball has used the RainedOut notification service for several years for notifying community coordinators, coaches, players, parents and others of important messages such as schedule postings and revisions, tournament bracket postings and weather cancellations.

We understand the convenience of using text messaging as the preferred method of notification delivery, but unfortunately we cannot absorb the cost of paying for text messaging and do not wish to pass this cost along to our over 2,300 text message subscribers.

As the email notification delivery method will remain free to all of us, we are recommending that you change your delivery method to email by adding your email address to our notification service.

HOW TO CHANGE TO EMAIL DELIVERY

If you currently receive your notifications from RainedOut via text messages, you will no longer receive them.  To continue to receive our notifications, you will need to change your notification delivery method to your email address.  You will not have to remove your text message number as it will no longer be used by our notification service – however you may remove your text message number if you wish.

To make any changes to your notification delivery method (adding your email address and/or removing your text message number), you have to do so at our sign-up page on RainedOut at (click this link or use the link on our Red Cedar homepage):

You can also reply STOP to the last RainedOut text message you received to remove your text message number from the service.  However, you must add your email at the website page to begin receiving email notifications.
